If you want to receive an electronic signature, you need a computer with a Windows, Mac or Linux operating system and a compatible chip card reader. Additionally, prepare your identity card with a chip (eID) and the 6-digit personal security code BOK.
To successfully activate eSignature, you need the D.Suite/eIDAS signing application if you are using Windows. If you are using Mac or Linux, you need the D.Launcher application.

A valid certificate for signing must be uploaded to the chip of your identity card. You may obtain a certificate for your electronic identity card in person at the documents division or online. The eID application will assist you in gaining the certificate online.
You may begin the process of issuing certificates in two different ways. In the first case, hover over the eID client application icon with your cursor. A right-click will open the menu and left-click to select Issue Certificates. The app will now prompt you to upload a document.
In the second case, go directly to the eID application and the Certificate browser section will show you whether you have a certificate or not. If you do not have it, the system will prompt you to issue one.

If an ID does not have the signing KEP PIN and KEP PUK codes activated yet, the application will prompt you to do so before issuing certificates. The KEP PIN is set up in two steps. The first step is to enter a 6-digit KEP PIN code, which you will repeat to verify.
The KEP PUK code is used for unblocking the KEP PIN in the event of multiple incorrect inputs. This is an 8-digit code, generated by the application itself that you must remember. This numeric value is set up in the same way as the KEP PIN.
After setting up your codes, you must activate them. The application will prompt you to do so. Remember that a KEP PIN is an alternative to a handwritten signature, it has the same legal effect, so keep it for yourself only.

After a succesful activation of the KEP PIN and PUK, you may proceed to issuing certificates. To start, the system will inform you on the certificates you will receive. In addition to the qualified certificate for the electronic signature, it is also a certificate for the creation of an advanced electronic signature and a certificate for encryption.
In order to receive your certificates, you must enter your BOK and PIN in the next steps. The release also includes the generation of the key pair, this process takes a few minutes.
Finally, you sign the application for the certificates using your PIN and then the certificates are stored on your ID card. The app will select the certificates you need for signing. You will be able to sign any electronic document (submission) when you make any application with the help of the certificates.
